Marla's Horse Ranch
We did not want to write a new book of its history, but to write a new chapter by restoring what it used to be an Old School Ranch and giving it the name of Marla, the name of the first horse ever born in this ranch.
The Marla's Horse Ranch is a 1.3 hectare site, located in Matosinhos - Porto, Portugal.
Here, adventure is combined with tranquility, within a variety of activities where you can get involved with our five beautiful horses and two sweet donkeys, such as:

We present you a world of adventure with our horses.
With us, you can learn to ride and take care of a horse.
You shall have new experiences and face new challenges, but also interact with students and ranch instructors.
The ranch is surrounded by nature, helping you live an unforgettable experience.
We have Riding Lessons for:
Beginner, Intermedia and Advanced level.

Equine Therapy
Equine Therapy (also referred to as Horse Therapy) is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions between patients and horses.
The goal of equine therapy is to help the patient develop needed skills and attributes, such as accountability, responsibility, self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and self-control. Equine therapy also provides an innovative milieu in which the therapist and the patient can identify and address a range of emotional and behavioral challenges.
Accommodation
Marla's Horse Ranch has 5 double bedrooms for you to relax after a thrilling afternoon.
Our bedrooms are remodeled boxes where our horses used to sleep, now, you can comfortably rest.
Each room comes with a private restroom and AC, every room was decorated in a way that makes you feel special in "our" home.
Volunteering
Opportunities
We welcome volunteers who are age 18+ to work with the horses. No experience is necessary. We have a training program to help you learn about our barn and the horses.
Volunteers provide valuable help with things like helping us with the daily tasks of supporting the Equines (horses, donkeys): giving them food, bathing them, cleaning their box, exercising them and anything else it's needed.
Volunteers would also be given the opportunity to ride the horses frequently and if necessary we will teach them.
Summer Camps
for Kids
The Equestrian Camp is a half-day program for kids who LOVE horses. All levels are welcome, from girls or boys who have never been on a horse to those that have been riding their entire lives.
Camp Friendship strongly believes that when developing the equestrians of tomorrow, safe horsemanship and care of the animal are just as important to teach as mounted skills.
